My name is Hunter T. Murphy. I am studying Government with a focus on National Security Studies at Liberty University in the Helms School of Government. I have a planned graduation date of Spring 2026. I am actively seeking academic and professional opportunities that align with my future goals and values, those predominantly being within national security and government agencies, non-profit organizations, and other relevant opportunities. My objectives of professional and academic opportunities include refining my hands-on experience in intelligence operations, risk assessment, policy analysis, and other relevant skills. My continuous studies and professional experience have equipped me with a strong foundation in many avenues, such as intelligence analysis, geopolitics, security policy, and much more, which I intend to use in a professional setting.

Through my academic career, I have honed in on my understanding of geopolitics as well as domestic and international national security strategies, and how to counter threats that leave the safety of U.S. citizens vulnerable. My coursework within the Helms School of Government has covered a large wealth of topics, including, but not limited to, intelligence collection and analysis, counterterrorism strategy, as well as national defense policy. These topics and my ongoing education have given me the ability to become stronger at analysis and critical thinking. Lastly, my research has deeply explored the history of intelligence operations as well as modern methods employed to keep our nation safe, which has given me profound insight into understanding security threats.

Moving aside from my academic studies, my experience in real estate appraisal has developed a strong foundation for my analytical and attention-to-detail skills, which are very important in intelligence operations. I have conducted extensive work on researching market trends, assessing property value, as well as verifying financial data, allowing me to handle large amounts of information at once with accuracy and efficiency. These skills that I have developed in real estate appraisal translate over well to intelligence analysis, where these skills are critical to the success of intelligence operations.

I am very motivated to contribute to furthering the United States’ intelligence missions, bringing a strong work ethic, a focus on detail and analytics and excellence, and over all, protecting U.S. citizens at home and abroad. As I continue to develop my foundation and strengthen my skills, I look forward to all prospects that allow me to gain practical experience and knowledge in a professional capacity. My ultimate goal is to serve in a national security capacity for the United States Government to enhance intelligence capabilities and to protect the United States and its interests.
